— Two persons were arrested after county and state law enforcement agencies executed search warrants on two residences as a result of an on-going undercover drug investigation.

Wade Anthony Parsons, 39, 5220 Hwy. 70 N, is charged with manufacture, delivery or sale of methamphetamine, manufacture, delivery or sale of marijuana, possession of Diazepam and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Jennifer Ann Cowart, 24, 85 Cowart Lane, is charged with possession of Endocet and possession of Alprazolam.

Bond for Parsons was set at $137,000 and bond for Cowart was set $2,000 and both are to appear in Cumberland County General Sessions Court on July 29.

Sheriff's deputies and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents traveled to 5220 and 5222 Hwy. 70 N to residences occupied and under the control of Parsons, according to Sgt. Jason Elmore's report.

When two deputies and two state agents entered the residence after announcing their presence, they stated all occupants in the front room obeyed commands except a woman who walked into a bedroom where she was taken into custody.

Movement was detected in a bathroom and when the occupants refused to open the door, K-9 Officer Danny Stone reportedly kicked the door open to find a male suspect identified as Parsons standing over a commode with a purple Crown Royal bag inside.

The bag was retrieved and inside was found a substance the investigators identified as methamphetamine and marijuana. A search of Parsons allegedly yielded a metal container with a substance also identified as meth.

The meth, marijuana and $346 in cash was seized by investigators as evidence.

In the second residence was found two men who were detained at the Justice Center while the search warrant was executed. They were later released and have not been charged.

Deputies also seized numerous firearms from a safe in a bedroom, as well as marijuana plants and prescription medication. In a purse was found additional prescription medication in a plastic bag.

Investigation is continuing.
