CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County Board of Education is now taking applications for the position of director of schools. Interested candidates have until Feb. 22 to complete their application packet.

A flyer detailing information about the school system and community, as well as items needed for the initial screening, is available at ccschools.k12tn.net. Applicants need to submit a letter of interest, current résumé, transcripts from universities and letters of reference and the names and contact information for five current professional references in a sealed envelope labeled "2013 Director Search" and mail to Cumberland County Schools, Attention: Director of Schools Search, 368 Fourth St., Crossville, TN 38555.

Application packets will remain sealed until Feb. 22, when Wayne Qualls, a consultant retained by the board to conduct the search, will screen the application materials and recommend the top candidates for interviews.
