Flowers Bakery of Crossville, a subsidiary of Flowers Foods (NYSE:FLO), has selected Janice Richards recipient of its 2012 Flowers Spirit Award.
The Flowers Spirit Award recognizes employees who are a positive force at work and in their community. The award was inspired by the kindness and generosity of Langdon S. Flowers, past president and chairman of the board of Flowers Foods. Throughout his life, Langdon Flowers encouraged many people within the company and throughout the country and was an active supporter of many charitable and community organizations.
Janice Richards, a breakperson for the Crossville bakery, was recognized for her strong work ethic, the positive encouragement she gives co-workers, and her contributions to the community. In her honor, Flowers Foods has made a monetary donation to the charity of her choice — Relay for Life of Cumberland County.
“Janice has been a valuable member of our team for more than 11 years,” said Frank Shipley, president of the Crossville bakery. “She works hard, inspires those around her, and serves her community and company well. Janice is very deserving of this recognition.”
