By Michael R. Moser

CROSSVILLE — Two Crossville area women have been arrested and charged in connection with a theft that occurred recently at the Art Circle Library during which a wallet and contents were taken Oct. 31.

Linda Kay Garren, 39, 920 Jacob's Crossing, and Chastity Dawn Roysdon, also known as Machic, 34, 325 Oakes Rd., are charged with theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit/ATM card. Roysdon was placed under $1,000 bond and Garren under $750 bond.

Arrest affidavits filed by Det. Donald Hammons accuse the pair of taking a wallet belonging to Bridgette Fugate at the library, and later with charing $335 to the victim's debit card.

After being given Miranda warnings, the suspects told the investigator that Machic found the wallet at the library, and that the card was used to purchase fuel for their vehicles, phone minutes for cell phones and merchandise from the Dollar General Store in Woodmere Mall.

Garren also provided Hammons with a statement about her involvement in the incident.

Both are to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 25.
