CROSSVILLE — A suspect wanted in connection with a domestic violence incident attempted to flee from police, sparking a chase and resulting in an officer activating a Taser weapon, resulting in the local man being transported to a regional trauma center.

The incident took place in the area of Charleston Plantation Lane off Hwy. 127 N early last Tuesday morning  according to Ptl. John Karlsven's report.

The suspect was identified as Micah Lee Brown, 23, 88 Deer Circle, on whom police were seeking to serve a domestic assault warrant. When the officer made contact with Brown, he wrote in his report that it appeared Brown was "under the influence of some type of stimulant."

Karlsven wrote that he made sure the suspect was Brown, and then attempted to take him into custody at which time Brown allegedly broke from the officer and attempted to flee on foot. Brown fell once, but was able to continue his flight.

The officer caught up with the suspect and as he activated his Taser weapon, Brown fell a second time. One of the probes struck Brown in the back of the head, while second probe struck him in the left shoulder area.

An ambulance was called to the scene and Brown was later transported to The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

Warrants were signed charing Brown with resisting arrest and evading arrest in addition to the outstanding warrant charging domestic assault.
