CROSSVILLE — Fourth-grade students from South Cumberland Elementary enjoyed a tour of downtown Crossville Tuesday, learning about sites of interest and historical importance. Above, students tour the Palace Theatre and learn of its history as a first-run movie theater, its restoration and its new life as a community theater and meeting place. Other stops on the tour include the Cumberland County Courthouse, Military Memorial Museum, mural, Crossville Depot and Shanks Center for the Arts. The tours are provided by volunteers from Downtown Crossville, Inc., and it ties in with the fourth-grade curriculum of Tennessee and local history. Tours will continue through this week.
