— A Crossvile woman was treated at Cumberland Medical Center's emergency room Monday after she was robbed by three persons, according to Ptl. Donathan Johnson's report. No arrests have been made.

The incident took place on North Hills Dr. at the intersection with North Hils Lane around 5 p.m., Danettee Duncan told police. Taken in the incident was a purse and contents, valued at $50, and $200 worth of medication that Duncan said belonged to herself and her daughter.

Duncan was treated at the emergency room for cuts and bruises and showed signs of being kicked or stomped, Johnson wrote in his report.

The victim told police she was stopped at the intersection by three men who asked for directions to the Tennessee driver's license station. As the victim talked to the men, one suddenly grabbed the victim's purse and gained possession of it after a brief struggle with Duncan. During that struggle, the victim stated she was knocked to the ground and stomped.

The trio then fled in a vehicle, traveling toward Genesis Rd. The incident was witnessed by others, although none of the witnesses could identify the assailants.

Duncan added that while on the way to CMC, she recovered her purse discarded on the side of the road, with money and medication missing.

One suspect has been identified and investigation is continuing.
