Woman charged with taking dead man's credit card


CROSSVILLE — A Fairfield Glade woman has been accused of taking the credit card that was issued to a man who died in her home and making charges on the card, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department.

Charged with two counts of theft of property and with fraudulent use of a credit card is Autumn Marie Van Horn, 46, 16 Sweetbriar Ct. Bond was set at $2,750 and she is to appear in General Sessions Court on Oct. 21.

In an arrest affidavit obtained by Sheriff's Investigator David Hamby, Van Horn took the late Luther Scott Threadway's credit card and items from the dead man's pickup truck valued at $250. It is further alleged that $45.36 worth of gasoline was charged to the credit card.

Van Horn was taken into custody on Sept. 27.
