Flags stolen from Elks Lodge

CROSSVILLE — Monday, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Americans pause to pay respect to those who have given service to their country and in many causes, paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

It is a time when Americans fly their American flags with pride. Members of the Elks Lodge located off Genesis Rd. are no different and fly Old Glory with pride.

That pride was damaged Monday when someone stole a U.S. flag and a Tennessee flag.

The theft was discovered by Ski Forester when she arrived for work at the Elks Lodge Monday shortly before noon. She noticed the flags were missing and called board members to determine if their was a reason the flags were not being displayed.

Ptl. Jason Wilson was then dispatched to the lodge and a theft report was taken. Dollar loss was placed at $90, but the theft was also disheartening to members of the lodge.

Wilson wrote that, at this time, there are no suspects in the theft case.
