Ballot set for May County Primary Election

CROSSVILLE — The ballot is set for the Cumberland County Republican and Democratic Primary Election, which takes place May 6, 2014.

The qualifying deadline for candidates to appear on the primary ballot was Feb. 20. Candidates have until Feb. 27 to withdraw their name if they decide not to run for office.

Democratic Circuit Court Judge, 13th Judicial District Part I candidate Amy Hollars and Register of Deeds candidate Judy Graham Swallows, both incumbents, are unopposed in their races.

Incumbent Republican candidates Criminal Court Judge, 13th Judicial District Part II, David A. Patterson; County Trustee, Kim Tollett Wyatt; General Sessions Judge Larry M. Warner; and County Clerk Jule Bryson, are unopposed as well.

Voters can chose only one political party primary to vote in on the May 6 primary election ballot. The winners of each political party will then go on and appear on the county general election ballot Aug. 7.

Circuit Court Judge, 13th Judicial District Part II, Jonathan Young.

Chancellor, 13th Judicial District, J. Lee Burgess.

Criminal Court Judge, 13th Judicial District Part I, Wesley Bray or Gary McKenzie.

Criminal Court Judge, 13th Judicial District Part II, David A. Patterson.

District Attorney General, 13th Judicial District, Bryant C. Dunaway, or Shawn C. Fry.

Public Defender, 13th Judicial District, Craig P. Fickling, John Milton Meadows or Edwin G. Sadler.

County Mayor, Kenneth Carey Jr. (incumbent), Doug Scarlett, Scott Sexton or Ligue Wisdom.

County Trustee, Kim Tollett Wyatt (incumbent).

General Sessions Judge, Larry Warner (incumbent).

Sheriff, Casey D. Cox or Terry Hoss White.

Circuit Court Clerk, Michael Ingram.

County Clerk, Jule Bryson.

Road Superintendent, Scott Blaylock (incumbent), Stanley Hall or Kevin D. Music.

There are no Republican candidates for Circuit Court Judge, 13th Judicial District, Part I, or Register of Deeds.
