Cumberland County Assessor of Property David Simcox was awarded the 2013 Middle Tennessee Assessor of the Year Award before the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers during the Regional Educational Seminars on Jan. 27. The award was presented on behalf of the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers by Executive Director Will Denami.
“The Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers proudly recognizes David Simcox for exemplifying the highest standards of professionalism, service and leadership as Assessor of Property for Cumberland County and name him as Middle Tennessee Assessor of the Year for 2013,” said 2013 Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers President Betty Burchett.
Denami said “David Simcox has done a tremendous job with the Cumberland County Assessor’s office. He has brought a new level of education into the office and improved the overall atmosphere, especially in the area of customer service. The TNAAO has been watching the transformation in Cumberland County and is very impressed at how much David has done to improve the office.”
“Let me say first, we have an excellent team in the Cumberland County Assessor’s office. What makes our team great is we focus on the taxpayers and making sure everyone is treated fairly.
"For me personally, it is a privilege to serve the people of Cumberland County and an absolute honor to be recognized for this award when there are some many other good Assessors across the state. I certainly appreciate it and in Cumberland County the citizens will always come first” said Simcox.
