Submitted

— Kelsey Whitefield and Hannah Gittere introduce park guests to some of their feathered friends during a recent educational program at Cumberland Mountain State Park. Tuesday, guests at the park can meet MacKenzie the Barred Owl and learn more about these birds of prey. The session begins at  11 a.m. at the terrace of the state park restaurant. Wednesday, you can get up close and personal with some cold-blooded neighbors at the Snakes Alive program, set for 1 p.m. at the restaurant terrace. The park is hosting a number of educational and fun programs this summer. All are considered PG-13, which means parental guidance is recommended. For more information, call the park office at 484-6138.
