Domestic assault sends woman to Erlanger

CROSSVILLE — A Crossville woman suffering serious head injuries was transferred from Cumberland Medical Center to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, following what police say was a domestic assault.

The incident occurred in the Cumberland Apartments off Stanley St. Tuesday and was reported around 8:10 a.m., according to Ptl. Terry Graham’s report.

The victim was identified as Lisa Seals, 43, whose daughter called police when she heard a disturbance taking place while trying to talk to her mom on the telephone.

Graham wrote that Maj. Terry White responded to the call and found the victim inside the residence, bleeding. The report adds that a lot of blood was found in the residence.

An ambulance was called for the victim and Seals was transported to CMC and later transferred to Erlanger. Graham wrote in his report that Seals identified her attacker as her boyfriend, but once at CMC, was unable to give police a statement. Det. Elizabeth Henshaw was called in to investigate the incident and a warrant was signed for a 40-year-old suspect who at deadline had not been arrested.

Seals’ condition was not known at deadline.
