Suspect 'low on cash' caught with property

CROSSVILLE — A man found snooping around another person's property admitted to a sheriff's deputy he was "snooping around" because he was "low on cash."

Calvin Glenn Edmonds, 44, 294 Hwy. 68, is charged with possession of burglary tools and theft of property, according to Deputy Zach Gilpin's report. Bond was set at $1,000.

Gilpin wrote that he was dispatched to a Pomona Rd. address around noon Jan. 13 and arrived to find a man carrying items to a white Chevrolet S10 pickup. Sgt. Butch LeFebvre also responded to the call.

Deputies found a wheelbarrow full of items that are believed to have come from the victim's back yard. Inside the pickup were found several items used to break into buildings, Gilpin wrote, including a screw driver, bolt cutters, hammer and pry bar.
