Pugh is self-determination winner for The Arc of TN


CROSSVILLE — Hunter Pugh of Crossville received the self-determination award from The Arc Tennessee during the 11th annual Tennessee Disability MegaConference Awards Banquet held May 31 at the Nashville Airport Marriott.

Pugh has approached every challenge in his life with a positive attitude, gusto and determination. He has never been intimidated by anything new and is always willing to help a friend. He works as a door greeter at the Hilltoppers Inc. Community Thrift Store. He is a model employee and not only motivates himself, but his coworkers as well. He is a hard working, caring citizen who through his abilities to self-advocate, has proven he is an equally valuable employee in the ever changing workforce.

The Arc Tennessee is a nonprofit membership organization composed of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families and professionals in the field.  For more than 60 years, The Arc’s statewide advocacy and education efforts have led to increased options in school, employment, services and inclusion in the community.
