A Crossville man was killed Monday morning in a one-vehicle traffic accident on Hwy. 70 E. in Crab Orchard.
Jody A. Davis, 31, of Crossville, was traveling east in a 1998 Buick LeSabre four-door at 5 a.m. Davis was leaving a curve when the car hit a horse.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Davis then lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway and over an embankment. The vehicle began to roll over and came to a final rest on its top.
Davis was not wearing a seatbelt, which the officer believed would have made a difference in the outcome.
Trooper Jeremy Newcome investigated the accident.
