A Crossville man was accidently shot in the foot when looking at a rifle being held by a coworker, according to Cumberland County Sheriff's Department reports. Both men reportedly were drinking at the time of the incident, the report states.
The incident took place Saturday around 8 p.m. in a wooded area off the end of Interstate Dr., according to Cpl. Tim Tutor's report.
Tutor responded to the report of a shooting and was met by Mark Pryor, 42, of Sylvester Davis Dr., who told him that he and James A. Taylor, 50, Wilson Rd., were watchmen for equipment on a logging job.
Taylor said he was showing a .22 rifle to Pryor when the gun accidentally discharged, striking Pryor in the foot. Pryor was transported to Cumberland Medical Center by ambulance and was treated in the emergency room.
No charges were filed.
