39-year-old man charged with sexual assault

— A Cumberland County man has been arrested and charged in connection with the sexual assault of a local woman that took place nearly two weeks ago, according to arrest records.
Alvin Dale Campbell, 39, 244 McGinnis Rd., was arrested Friday at a Stanley St. location and charged with one count of sexual battery. He was placed under $15,000 bond and is to appear in General Sessions Court on Monday, according to Cpl. Jason Elmore's report.
An affidavit of complaint on the arrest warrant filed by Investigator Jeff Slayton states the incident occurred on Dec. 12 and involved a 33-year-old female who told police that she was forced onto the seat of a vehicle, that her clothes were taken off her and she was forced to have sex.
