The Tennessee Department of Correction will hold a public meeting to gain input from residents on the proposed expansion of the Southeastern Tennessee State Regional Correctional Facility in Pikeville.
Once completed, the facility will add more than 1,440 new beds and will be named the Bledsoe County Correctional Complex.
Commissioner George Little will be on hand to hear public comments. “We’re very excited about this project and we are looking forward to finalizing the related infrastructure projects including water, sewer and electrical up-grades that will not only serve the needs of the TDOC but the surrounding community,” said Little.
The public hearing will be held Thursday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. CST at Bledsoe Middle School Cafeteria, 857 Main Street, Pikeville.
