Jolley sentenced to 5 years for burglary

By Michael R. Moser / mmoser@crossville-chronicle.com

An eastern Cumberland County man who committed a residential burglary while on probation for the same charge is today serving five years-plus in the state prison system after pleading guilty in Criminal Court last week.

Brian Paul Jolley, 22, who at the time of his arrest provided authorities with a Westel Rd. address, was in court last Tuesday to answer to felony charges of aggravated burglary and theft more than $1,000.

He has had two probation violation warrants pending against him stemming from earlier burglary and theft charges.

As part of a sentencing agreement, Jolley pleaded guilty to the aggravated burglary charge and received a five-year prison sentence to be served the the Tennessee Department of Corrections.

This sentence is to be served consecutive to the sentence the remainder of a four-year sentence after his probation in that case was revoked. A two-year probation sentence was also revoked.

It is not know how much of the four-year sentence Jolley will serve since he has been in jail since his arrest about six months ago and will get credit for all the time he has served on the earlier charges.

Jolley was indicted earlier this year for the July 30 burglary of the Mike Bible residence in Westel during which over $1,000 worth or guns and jewelry were stolen.
