During Monday night's Cumberland County Commission meeting Hill said the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the lawsuit against the Board of Education and another matter.
"Some of the other things that need to be discussed would be better and need to be done in a public forum. We will do that in the future," Hill said.
According to the original announcement from Hill's office, the subject of the meeting was a discussion over the lawsuit filed by Mayor Hill against the Cumberland County Board of Education.
The notice stated, "The meeting is closed to the media and others due to the nature of the subject to be discussed."
There was no explanation given as to why the group was holding a private meeting in order to discuss the results of a public hearing.
