An apple a day

September 16, 2008 08:21 pm

Apples never tasted better, these Crab Orchard Elementary School students found out, than freshly picked ones from The University of Tennessee Plateau Research and Education Center Tuesday. Hundreds of Cumberland County third-graders from every school in the county enjoyed the 16th annual Ag in the Classroom day. Students learned all about contributions of agriculture to everyday living, learned about their environment and enjoyed a picnic lunch. The annual event is sponsored by Cumberland County Farm Bureau women's group. Please see Friday's edition of the Chronicle and the Chronicle's Web site on Friday for additional photos.
