In a one-week period, members of the Tennessee's Governor's Task Force on the Eradication of Marijuana and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department located and destroyed 34,203 marijuana plants in the county.
The two law enforcement agencies combined forces Aug. 4-14 in eradicating the illegally grown plant. At least one case against a local resident will be presented to a future term of the grand jury, Sheriff's Butch Burgess said.
When mature, the seized plants would have an estimated street value of $51,304,500, officials said.
