Crossville Police have little to go on after finding a man sitting on the ground, bleeding profusely from lacerations to his head and all over his body, according to reports filed last week.
On July 16 police were dispatched to Country Oakes Dr. shortly before 5 p.m. to find Jerry King, no age available, of Lantana Rd., sitting on the ground as he leaned against a vehicle, with several severe lacerations all over his body, according to Ptl. J. Brink's report.
Brink wrote in his report that he attempted to question King as to what had happened, "but he was reluctant to say." An ambulance and a police supervisor were dispatched to the scene and King was taken to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Police questioned several adults they found present in the apartment complex where the incident occurred without coming up with a witness. Two children playing nearby allegedly told their parents that "someone was outside bleeding to death," but the youngsters had no additional information to give investigators.
The probe is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crossville Police Department.
The extent of King's injuries and his condition were not available.
