Two teenage girls were thrown from an all-terrain vehicle that witnesses said was traveling too fast, resulting in an ambulance ride to Cumberland Medical Center on the Fourth of July.
Driver of the ATV was identified as Kendra Swallows of Lovejoy Rd., Sparta. Her passenger was a Rt. 4, Pikeville 15-year-old girl, according to Lt. Scott Iles' report.
Witnesses told the deputy that the two girls were riding a 2006 Kawasaki KFX400 four-wheeler "too fast" when they jumped a small hump, struck a rock, skidded to the left and then turned right abruptly, tossing both girls from the ATV. Both girls suffered injuries to the head, shoulders and upper bodies. The injuries were not life-threatening.
