The following is the Cumberland Criminal Court docket for July 9, Judge David Patterson presiding.

Arraignment

The following defendants made first appearances in court following their indictments by the grand jury.

•Michael D. Fisher, theft more than $500, Randal Boston appointed to represent the defendant; continued until Sept. 26.

•James R. Hedgecoth, 33, second offense driving under the influence and second offense driving on a revoked license, Public Defender's Office appointed to represent the defendant. Hedgecoth, who is in custody out-of-the county, wanted to dispose of this case while serving a sentence on an unrelated crime. He pleaded guilty to drunk driving and was fined $600 and court costs, must undergo alcohol and drug assessment, must serve 45 days in jail with the remainder of 11 months and 29 days on probation. The revoked license charge was dropped.

•Eric W. Parsons, theft more than $500, Public Defender's Office appointed to represent the defendant; continued until Sept. 26.

•Pablo Figueroa, two counts of statutory rape involving two victims, Robert Zuecher appointed to represent the defendant who was assessed a $500 fee to help pay for his defense; continued until Sept. 26.

Deadline docket

•Gabriel Duran Duran, possession of less than .5 grams of cocaine for sale or delivery, continued until Sept. 26.

•Gary A. Molthen, violation of the revenue law, continued until Sept. 28 for satisfaction of a past-due tax bill.

•Christopher L. Moore, possession of methamphetamine for resale, criminal impersonation and theft more than $1,000, continued until July 10.

•Donald Dale Sandstedt, rape, continued until Sept. 26 to allow his attorney to consult with state prosecutors concerning new information relating to the case.

•Andrew Artibee, fourth offense driving on a revoked license, continued until July 27.

Motions/hearings

•Charles Vernon Clark, motion to waive fines and court costs in sixth offense drunk driving, third offense revoked license and refusing an intoximeter case, motion denied and dismissed because Clark failed to appear in court to support his motion.

•Vickie D. Eldridge, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, three counts of assault, vandalism and theft more than $1,000, motion to waive fines and court costs denied because defendant, who is incarcerated, has made no attempt to pay restitution.

•Darren B. Hamby, motion to waive fines and court costs in cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, drunk driving, revoked license and leaving the scene cases denied because defendant did not appear in court on behalf of his motion.

•Peggy Ann Riddle, motion for impingement of record of theft, vandalism and criminal trespass denied because defendant did not appear in court on behalf of her motion.

•Tonya Weidner Trowbridge, motion for early release from serving a sentence for forgery and passing a forged instrument, granted. Trowbridge only lacked 10 day serving her sentence.

Community corrections

•Matthew Lee Cowart, probation violation of the community corrections program hearing set for Sept. 26.

•Donald Janow, probation violation of the community corrections program hearing set for Sept. 23.

•Brian E. Elmore, in community corrections on a four-year sentence for burglary and theft more than $1,000, pleaded guilty to violation of probation and was ordered to serve 180 straight days with credit for 91 days already served with only release being directly into the Teen Challenge program. If he fails in the Teen Challenge program, he will be facing the remainder of the four-year sentence.

•Crystal Smith, probation violation of the community corrections program hearing set for Aug. 1.

Probation violation

•Donald A. Anderson, on probation because of a drunk driving conviction, pleaded guilty to violation of probation after failing a drug test, was ordered to serve 30 days on weekends.

•James A. Brady, Public Defender's Office appointed to represent the defendant; bond set at $5,000 and revocation hearing continued until Aug. 1.

•Leo Cedillo, capias and attachment issued for failure to appear for probation violation hearing; ordered held for bond hearing.

•Amanda I. Gray, Public Defender's Office appointed to represent the defendant; revocation hearing set for July 23.

•Jeff Hall, Public Defender's Office appointed to represent the defendant; revocation hearing set for July 23.

•Kenny Jones, on probation for fraud, pleaded guilty at a earlier hearing to probation violation in a case dating back to 1992. He has served 53 days in jail and is to serve 15 more days and pay $205 restitution.

•Patricia A. Loshbough, probation revocation hearing set for July 27.

•Wayne Sherrill, Public Defender's Office appointed to represent the defendant; revocation hearing set for July 23.

•Shelia K. Wood, probation revocation hearing set for July 23.

•Larry Mott, bond set at $11,000; Public Defender's Office appointed to represent the defendant; capias set aside because Mott was incarcerated in the Davidson County jail when his hearing was scheduled. Revocation hearing set for Aug. 1.

•Wade Parsons, bond set at $5,000; revocation hearing set for Aug. 1.
