State and local investigators have been working overtime processing evidence and interviewing a host of potential suspects and potential witnesses in the slaying of a west Cumberland County man one week ago.
The body of Malcoln Frazier, 63, 317 Old Ridge Rd., was discovered around 11:23 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department.
Investigators spent the rest of that day gathering forensic evidence from the crime scene and building a list of persons of interest that detectives want to interview.
Who discovered the body and the manner of death are not being discussed at this time and a press release from the sheriff's department read, "Foul play is suspected in the death; however, authorities are not releasing any details at this time as the investigation is ongoing," the press release stated.
An autopsy has been conducted on the victim's body but the full results and final report will not be released for weeks.
The Chronicle has learned that investigators have interviewed several persons and several more are on a list to be contacted. In addition, some search warrants have been obtained but the subject of those warrants has not been released.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, state medical examiner's office, state crime lab, Tennessee Highway Patrol's Critical Incident Response Team and Cumberland County Sheriff's Department is involved in the investigation.
