Downtown law office goes up in smoke

Firefighters with the Crossville Fire Department responded to a blaze at the law office of Randal Boston at 60 N. Main St. early Monday morning. Firefighters responded at 12:54 a.m. and had the fire extinguished by 1:19 a.m., according to a report. Crossville Fire Captain Rick Meyers said a preliminary investigation indicated the fire was electrical in nature and did not appear to be set intentionally. The fire started in a filing room in the office. The building and contents suffered heavy smoke damage. Meyers estimated the damages to be about $25,000 for the building and $25,000 for the contents. There were no injuries reported.
