Veterans' Memorial Day activities being at 11 a.m.

— The Cumberland County veterans organizations will sponsor a Memorial Day ceremony May 26 at the Cumberland County Memorial Veterans Park. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. with the Cumberland County Community Band performing and posting of the colors by the Cumberland County High School JROTC Color Guard. T Shurmur will provide special music, and the speaker will be Emmy Edwards, with the Daughters of the American Revolution Crab-Orchard Chapter.
The Community Band will begin performing patriotic songs at 10:30, and streets will be blocked off for the ceremony. There will be seating available, but everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
