Military Officers of America presents certificate to Sutherland

Lt. Col. Bob Thomas, right, president of the Upper Cumberland Chapter of the Military Officers of America (MOAA), presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. LaNelle Sutherland, volunteer coordinator of Services to Armed Forces, American Red Cross Chapter in Crossville.
As the guest speaker at their first membership meeting of the year on March 2, at Elks Lodge 2751, Dr. Sutherland gave an overview of a new program being developed by the Red Cross for military families in Cumberland and Fentress counties. This initiative will address the needs and concerns of military families who do not reside near a military installation and will supplement current family readiness programs within each military branch.
