Defendant who was charged while on bond given shot at rehab

By Michael R. Moser / mmoser@crossville-chronicle.com

A Cumberland County woman who has been arrested twice since the first of the year on methamphetamine charges while out on bond on meth charges from late last year has been given a second chance by the court system.

Jessica Vaughn Hale, 27, 32 Dawn Ct., pleaded guilty in Criminal Court Feb. 13 to promotion of the manufacture of methamphetamine and attempt to initiate the process to manufacture meth and received two- and six-year sentences which were conditionally suspended.

Hale is to enroll in a rehabilitation program in Buffalo Valley by the end of this week and must complete the rehab program to be eligible for the total of six years to be served on probation.

Violation of terms of probation, including failure to successfully complete the rehab program, can result in her having to serve the balance of her sentence in prison.

The outcome of pending meth charges in General Sessions Court could have be an affected by the sentencing agreement reached in Criminal Court.

Hale was represented by Crossville attorney Earl Patton.
