Anna H. Massaro

Feb. 23, 1918 — Sept. 2, 2008



Anna Helen (Cygan) Massaro, 90, of Temple Terrace, FL, passed away Sept. 2, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Danny Smith officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Temple Terrace, FL, on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens in Temple Terrace, FL.



Mrs. Massaro was born Feb. 23, 1918, in Enfield, CT, the daughter of Joseph Cygan and Sophia (Wilk) Cygan.



After graduating from Enfield High School, she was then married 62 years and worked as an executive secretary for Kaman Aircraft and later retired from the Hartford Insurance Group. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Ladies Guild, past secretary of the Temple Terrace Women's Club and member of the Temple Terrace Friendship Club. For her 90th birthday, she was honored by the Cumberland County mayor with the designation of Ann Massaro Day and received a certificate of appreciation from the mayor of Crossville.



She enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble.



Survivors include her twin sons, William A. Massaro Jr. and wife Nora (Meany) Massaro of Temple Terrace, FL, and Francis "Frank" E. Massaro and wife Beverly (Bacon) Massaro of Crossville; grandsons, William Anthony Massaro of Tampa, FL, and Michael Alan Massaro and wife Tammy (Waldo) Massaro of Crossville; great-grandson, Cody Allen of Crossville; sister, Mary Chittenden of Suffield, CT; and brothers, Frank Cygan of Suffield, CT, and Sebastian Cygan of Hickory, NC.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Massaro Sr.; and brother, John Cygan.
