Devonia L. Keaton
March 26, 1931 — June 12, 2008
Devonia Lourie Keaton of Crossville, formerly of Pennsville, passed away June 12, 2008. A private memorial service will be held by family.
Mrs. Keaton was born March 26, 1931, in Fort Branch, IN, the daughter of the late Otto and Jewel Burke of Indiana.
She retired from General Motors Inc. after 26 years of service as an assembly technician. She enjoyed fishing and bingo, but most important to her were her family and the time they spent together.
Survivors include her sister, Wilma Newman of Arizona; former husband, Buster Keaton of Florida, formerly of Pennsville; children, Sandra Clark and husband Richard of Tennessee, Nancy Walters and husband David of North Carolina and Cletus Keaton and wife Sharon of Florida; grandchildren, Vickie Wilde (Buechler) and husband Jason Jr. of Hancocks Bridge, Ray Buechler III and fiance Valerie Barker of Tennessee, Richard Clark III and wife Heather of Michigan, Kim David and husband Jim of Delaware, Rachael, Sara, Katie, Laura and Molly Walters of North Carolina, Josh Keaton and his wife of Florida, Jessica Keaton of Florida, Daniel Poeta and wife Katrina of North Carolina and Dr. Rocky Poeta III of Delaware; great-grandchildren, Jason III, Bethany Wilde of Hancocks Bridge, Kelsey, Kody, Kyle Buechler of Tennessee, Maddy, Jimmy David of Delaware, Corrina and Emily of Florida, Chole and Cole of Florida, Gabriel, Brendon Poeta of North Carolina; nieces and nephews, Loretta Haley, Donna Aldrich, Ben Atchison and Francis Newman of Indiana; and her loving canine companion of 14 years, JC, with whom she spent many hours and days.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lenora Atchison; brother, Morris Burke; youngest daughter, Diana Poeta (2003) of Tennessee, formerly of Pennsville; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Keaton (Brittingham) of Pennsville.
Contributions in her memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
