Edward Royce Gilliland, 77, of Crossville, passed away May 23, 2008, at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville. Graveside services were held May 26 in the Willard Park Cemetery in Harriman with Bro. Luther Massengill officiating.


Mr. Gilliland was born June 28, 1930, in Harriman, the son of Edward and Mary Eula Gilliland.


He was self-employed in the trucking industry and attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Crab Orchard.


Survivors include his wife, Ruby Janelle Gilliland of Crossville; daughters, Eddy Stout and husband Jim of Kingston, Kay Burson of Memphis and Anna Grace Gilliland of West Monroe, LA; stepdaughter, Jeanne Turner and husband Anthony of Crossville; stepsons, Johnny Hyder and wife Tammy and Darryl Hyder and wife Charlotte of Crossville; and grandchildren, Lindsey Day, Heather Burson, Jonathan Burson and Britney Gilliland; step-grandchildren, Courtney Turner, Justin Dykes, Cassie Hyder, Jonathan Hyder, Jennifer Howard and Tiffany Hyder; and brother, William Gilliland of Rockwood.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Gilliland.
