Robert Clemon Kerley, 86, of Crossville, passed away May 9, 2008. Funeral services were conducted May 12 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with Bro. Mike Kerley officiating. Burial was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.


Mr. Kerley was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Chattanooga, the son of Robert J. and Grace Hare Kerley.


He was of the Baptist faith, a self-employed electrician and served in the Air Force during World War II. He was a Mason and a member of Lodge No. 137 F&AM. Members of the Crossville Masonic Lodge provided Mason rites at the service.


Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Virginia Lee Kerley; sons, Robert A. Kerley (Lori) of Estill Springs, TN, Charles D. Kerley of Crossville and Carl E. Kerley (Linda) of Kouts, IN; daughters, Linda DeLeon (Jesse) of Murfreesboro and Daisy Shevock (William) of Wheatfield, IN; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl Kerley and Milton Kerley; sisters, Barbara Britton, Marjorie Shupin and Wilda Herman; and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Farr and Claudia Balock; brother, Wayne Kerley; and grandchildren, Darlene Butler and Billy Shevock.


Pallbearers were David Kerley, Joe Shevock, Robert Kerley, Wayne Kerley, Shawn Kerley and Eric Arias.


Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
