There were no parking spaces available and no seats left at the Thunderbird Recreation Center on April 3 for the Meet the Candidates assembly. The unique forum allowed the candidates running in the Cumberland County Primary Election the opportunity to present themselves to Tansi’s voting public.
‘Stamp Out Hunger’ set May 10

Protective Covenants at Lake Tansi Village
In Cumberland County, the lots in most subdivisions have protective covenants that, by definition, were written to “enhance the value and use of said property.” Lake Tansi Village has 56 subsections, or divisions, with varying covenants.
POA completes projects
We have completed some projects this spring at the Marina. We have purchased a 2005 Yamaha 50hp 2 stroke motor for one of our rental pontoon boats. Also, we have made some major reupholstering repairs on all three of our pontoon boats, including seat cushions, arm rests, bench seats and one of them with all new carpet. We also purchased five new buoys to replace older ones.
FUNd donations assist with restocking lake, other amenities
Frank Thierry presented Carl Flanagan, Marina manager, a check for $450 from the FUNd Committee. This amount put us over our goal of more than $2,500 to re-stock Lake Tansi with 6,000 breeding fish. We thank the FUNd Committee for their donation and continued support of our lakes and the community.
Winner-Winner LTV Association Dinner
The Lake Tansi Village Association (LTVA) held its monthly potluck dinner at the Thunderbird on April 15. The buffet was set, the tables were full and the LTVA had a great time listening to the entertaining style of the Plateau Old-Time German Band.
Exchange Club hosts spaghetti fundraiser
The Lake Tansi Exchange Club welcomed a large turnout for its Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on March 29 at the Thunderbird Recreation Center. The evening included mountains of molten marinara, craft and baked goods on auction, a silent auction of specialty items donated by members, and a becoming crowd supporting the Exchange Club’s many causes and projects.
Painting with the Art League at CACE Youth Expo
The Lake Tansi Art League set up a painting station for the county’s children to experience watercolor at Cumberland Artisans for Creative Expression (CACE) annual Youth Expo on Saturday,April 12 at the Community Complex. The free events hosts many organizations and artisans to demonstrate and teach the children of Cumberland County in hands-on activities from painting to piano and visit the Student Art Exhibit displaying the work of students from area school art programs.
