Exchange Club celebrates growth
Lake Tansi Exchange Club President Mike Ferry is shown giving a certificate of membership to new member David Kopp.
This one's for the birds
On Jan. 5-9, Tennessee seemingly exchanged places with Alaska. While Alaska enjoyed a heat wave with record high temperatures, Cumberland County got a taste of subarctic winds, rains, snowfall, and ice. With temperatures reaching record lows and a wind chill of -12 degrees, Lake Tansi was left to the birds. Hoards of Canadian geese, American coots, mallards, hooded mergansers, and other beautiful water fowl flocked to the water and were just about the only warm blooded creatures out and about during the winter blast.
A sweet exchange
C really is for cookie! Nothing says Christmas is near like a baker’s dozen or two brought in for a cookie exchange. The annual cookie exchange, sponsored by Lake Tansi Recreation Committee, was held on Thursday, Dec. 19 at the Thunderbird Recreation Center. With lunch, cookies, and a raffle for Christmas novelties and poinsettias, it was difficult not to take away an abundance of Christmas spirit, as well as a full stomach.
Lake Tansi Bandits strike again
Lake Tansi Bandits recently donated to Hospice of Cumberland County in honor of Dianne Hansen. Many were came out to mark the special occasion including Lake Tansi Bandits President Russ Conn and Hospice of Cumberland County’s Executive Director Ken Taylor.
Welcome new members to the board of directors
With winter upon us, cabin fever has set in for some. If you are like me, you can’t wait for the arrival of spring, and with it, a new year and a new beginning for Lake Tansi. Hopefully, the weather will be on our side this year with warm, dry days so we can enjoy the Lake Tansi amenities such as golf, the lakes, beach and activities at the Thunderbird Recreation Hall.
Looking forward to better weather in 2014
As we take a look at the previous year, we can only hope for one thing ... better weather!

LT rings in New Year with Bingo Party
The Thunderbird Recreation Center was a full house on Dec. 31, kicking off New Year’s Eve celebrations with a Bingo Bash hosted by the Lake Tansi Recreation Committee. Ladies and gents donned their festive Happy New Year crowns and party hats and young ones were entertained with noisemakers, balloons and confetti. Even the Christmas tree was decorated for New Year’s.
