Welcome new members to the board of directors

CROSSVILLE — With winter upon us, cabin fever has set in for some. If you are like me, you can’t wait for the arrival of spring, and with it, a new year and a new beginning for Lake Tansi. Hopefully, the weather will be on our side this year with warm, dry days so we can enjoy the Lake Tansi amenities such as golf, the lakes, beach and activities at the Thunderbird Recreation Hall.

The winter months give our maintenance crew time to give our cabins a fresh coat of paint inside, work on the paddle boats, and install new carpet and bench seats on our pontoon boats.

Our golf course crew is staying busy getting ready by repainting the out of bounds and hazards stakes, rebuilding a couple of our trucker carts and getting the mowers ready to start mowing as soon as the weather breaks.

I would like to welcome Bruce Wyatt and Will Collis, the two new members, to our board of directors. Our first board meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Thunderbird Recreation Center. I invite each and every one of you to come. Let’s start the new year on the right foot. We would like to hear any ideas, thoughts or suggestions for improvement you would like to see done at Lake Tansi this year. Let’s work together and see if we can’t make this year one to remember.

I would like to have a schedule of events posted and up and running sometime in March so our members and guests can plan and spend their summer here at Lake Tansi, along with better communication and email blasts to let everyone know  what is happening this year.

In closing, stay warm and think spring – it will be here before we know it. Once again, make plans to be at the first board meeting on Feb. 20 at 6 p.m.
