Sun contributor

CROSSVILLE — The sixth annual Mike Steinmann/Salvation Army Golf Tournament is set for this year on Saturday, July 27 at the Lake Tansi Golf Course. The tournament will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Entry fee is $65 per person which includes a fish fry afterward along with some great prizes. We will be having a hole-in-one contest on hole three par three for a cash prize of $15,000 along with hole-in-one prizes on the other par three holes.

There will be a putting contest that will start at 11 a.m. with one prize for men and one prize for women. Some other prizes that will also be awarded are “closest to the pin” on all par threes and “long drive” contest with one prize for men and one prize for women.

The proceeds of this tournament go to support two important Salvation Army programs, to assist Cumberland County children that have been removed from their homes due to severe abuse and neglect by their parents and to also aid our Cumberland County Armed Forces Veterans in need.

Entry forms are available at the Lake Tansi Pro Shop; you can go online at and click on sixth annual golf tournament or call the Salvation Army Office at (931)788-3414.

Also, if you would like, you can be a hole sponsor for $100. That gets a sign with your name on it on the hole of your choice and your name on a banner that is displayed at the golf tournament.

So please make plans to get a foursome together to come play and have a great day of fun.

We appreciate all of you who support us on this day and all of the support that you give us all year long.
