Killeen's sets itself apart

CROSSVILLE — Killeen’s on the Green Restaurant & Lounge quietly replaced Cannon’s on Aug. 1 but just recently secured the lease. Owners Robert and Janeanne Killeen put together a ship shape crew for a new kind of dining experience right in the heart of Tansi with a robust menu you can’t get anywhere else in town.

Killeen’s on the Green boasts a menu of everything from hamburgers to the best prime rib on the plateau; fish, shrimp, chicken and even homemade crab cakes. Everything is fresh made by Chef Wayne Ravis, who creates his own sauces, spice rubs and marinades from scratch. 

“There are no frozen dinners set on anyone’s plates here, I can tell you that,” said Killeen’s manager, Leslie Price.

The restaurant has already gotten rave reviews and is increasing business by catering banquets, receptions, office and holiday parties with sit-down dinners and buffets. Killeen’s on the Green also has a fully stocked full-service bar to serve its customers.

“We don’t want to be thought of as a country club,” explained Price. “We are friendly, middle class blue collar workers and we want our customers to feel at home here, where we remember their names and what they like to drink and ask how their kids and grandkids are. We want them to come in and expect a pat on the back and a big hug and enjoy the company.”

The reports are good and the customer base continues to grow. Killeen’s on the Green is fully committed to making its mark as one of the greatest restaurants in the area and serving everyone with the best they have to offer. Killeen’s regales with weekly menu specials on Thursdays and live entertainment on the weekends.
