CROSSVILLE — The Lake Tansi Small Pan Fish Club is reeling about its first rodeo tournament of the season scheduled for Tuesday, June 11. For a nominal $5 entry fee, teams will be in the running for Pan Fish Rodeo’s cash prizes for most weight: First prize is $100, Second $75, Third $50, and Fourth Place will receive $25. Registration and kick-off meeting will be at 6:30 a.m. at the Lake Tansi Marina. The rodeo will officially begin at 7 a.m. with the weigh-in promptly at 11 a.m.

Open to members and nonmembers alike, it is safe to say the club is angling for more competition. The monies collected at the Pan Fish Rodeo Tournament is the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year. However, this year all the entry fees will be put back into Lake Tansi as the club unanimously decided to use the funds to restock the lake.

“We want to open our club and community up to everyone with a passion for fishing and get to know Lake Tansi,” said club president, Pat Sawchuk.

The Pan Fish Rodeo is open to all Lake Tansi POA members, as well as Lake Tansi residents. Competitors do not have to be Small Pan Fish Club members. So, grab your tackle, fishing license, best fishing buddy and come out, rain or shine, to the Pan Fish Rodeo. The Lake Tansi Small Pan Fish Club hopes to lure in new members and help the Lake Tansi Marina restock the lake in return for a day of fishing on Lake Tansi, all the fish you can catch, plus the chance to win cash prizes sponsored by the Lake Tansi POA.

Two-person teams per boat are allowed two poles each. Crappy must be at least 10 inches, shell cracker and perch at least nine inches. Blue gill, rock and yellow bass (stripers) must be at least eight inches. Fishing licenses and proper boat registration is required. Official rules and regulations, as well as the Lake Tansi Pan Fish Anglers Club tournament schedule can be found on the Lake Tansi POA site at Contact club president Pat Sawchuk at 788-2486 for additional information.
