Looking forward to better weather in 2014

CROSSVILLE — As we take a look at the previous year, we can only hope for one thing ... better weather! Rounds were down in 2013, as the plateau received record amounts of rainfall. January has been a cold start to the year, but I look forward to a great golfing season in 2014. We are expecting a full tournament schedule this season, including the return of the Johnny Majors Invitational and the Tennessee PGA Section Pro Am, both to be held in July, along with several other returning events and a couple of new ones that were added this season. A full tournament schedule will be finalized and posted by Feb. 15. This schedule will be available in the golf shop at that time as well as on our website At the end of February I will be attending the Chicago Golf & Trade Show in attempts to recruit Stay-n-Play packages to Lake Tansi. As you all know, packages are a vital part of our revenue stream for not only the golf course, but the cabins, and the other amenities we offer here at Lake Tansi. I am excited to attend this show and meet some potential new customers. Thanks to Superintendant Todd Mathews and his crew we have one of the best conditioned golf courses in the state and I am confident if we can get these new customers to visit Lake Tansi they will surely come back for years to come.

I have been here for a little over two years now and am very happy to be a part of the team at Lake Tansi. In my first two years I have seen a great weather year in 2012, and a terrible weather year in 2013. Hopefully this will balance itself out this year and we can continue to improve the financial well-being of our golf course and the overall status of our entire operation here at Lake Tansi. I look forward to a great season, along with seeing all the familiar faces and hopefully some new ones this spring!
