Lake Tansi Pan Fish Club meets April 1

CROSSVILLE — Greetings Lake Tansi Pan Fish Club fishermen and women. Winter is almost over (Whoopie!) and its time to get ready for a great 2014 fishing season. We have a lot of great fun planned again this year with tournaments every other week from April through October.

The first Pan Fish Club registration/meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 1 at 11 a.m. at the Thunderbird Recreation Center, to discuss the rule changes and to sign up to fish. Kenny and Michelle are having coffee and goodies for a small price, lets support their efforts. The following Tuesday, April 8 will be our first fishing tournament. The times are 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Rules, regulations, and schedules will be handed out that day before fishing. It is $10 per year to join and is open to all POA members in good standing. Prize money will be given in each tournament to the teams with the highest weight of fish for the day.

We also have two Rodeos per season; prizes are at stake and these tournaments are open to non-members as well. The monies we collect from these tournaments are donated back to the Marina to help restock the lake.

A Thanks to Kali's Restaurant in Woodmere Mall for supporting us with the purchase of trophies (six years in a row) for the end-of-the-year winners, along with the POA's help. We also have two to three delicious fish fries per season, Yummy!

Officers include Patt Sawchuk, who has retained the position of President, newly appointed Vice President Michelle Vaughn and Jerry Vaughn as Treasurer. Thanks guys for volunteering your help!

The 2013 Angler of the Year award went to Ron Pulley and Patt Sawchuk, with a grand total of 143 pounds, almost 74 pounds above anyone else. What a great time we shared last year! Big fish winner was Rich Shadwell, with a catch of 18 ounces.

Hope to see all of you at the meeting on April 1. Any questions, please call Patt Sawchuk at 788 - 2486. As always, fish hard, have fun and obey the laws of the water. They are for your protection. Take care and God bless.
