Its Christmas time in Tansi again, the weather has turned cold and the leaves have fallen. It’s my favorite time of the year – spending time with my family and friends and celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ makes Christmas such a blessing! The holiday season can always be a stressful time, but let’s remember this time of year should not be that way. This is the time of year each and every one of us should step back and count our many blessings. The unmerited favor and grace we have all been given by our Savior can make even the best Christmas present seem subpar. Let’s all remember the true meaning of Christmas!
Reflecting on the year, we were able to accomplish the cruise-ins with live bands and inflatables for the kids. We welcomed Bruce Wyatt and Will Collis as new members to the board of directors. I would like to thank Danny Plumlee and Dan Kington for their hard work they have given to the Property Owners’ Association. This year was also one of the wettest years we have had in about 30 years. The rain helped keep our lake at full pool all year, which provided great fishing. On the other hand, the rain caused problems this summer for the golf course. However, Todd Matthews and crew did a great job to keep the course in tip-top shape.
Cabin rentals were also great and had a steady flow throughout the season. The recreation department also had a good year. The Quack Shack at the beach was very successful – they extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays to show movies and had great food and dinners for guests and visitors. Our maintenance crew, led by Johnny Whitaker, did a great job of keeping the amenities looking great. Johnny also did a great job maintaining the golf course, maintenance and security vehicles and equipment. Tansi Security did a great job patrolling our community.
I’m excited about the new year ahead, placing some new events and activities that will be coming out in the spring so everyone can plan to spend their summer here at Lake Tansi. Once again, I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas, and may you be blessed with the true meaning of Christmas.
