"Wanted: Individual willing to work long hours for no pay. Ability to multi-task essential. Must be able to set and meet long-term goals and be a team player. Willingness to listen graciously to harsh critics is a plus."
Who in their right mind would answer a job ad like that?
Fortunately for the POA, many have come forward and done just that as a board member working to make Lake Tansi what it is today.
This year we are losing three board members who have devoted over 17 years to the POA. These three will be stepping down due to term limits and they have served the community as long as anyone could expect. The POA is looking for candidates willing to put their ideas and talents to work for the betterment of the community and to achieve the long term goals of the association. If you or anyone you know is up to the challenge, the deadline for submittal is August 22, 2008. Forms and instructions may be picked up at the POA office during regular business hours.
Not ready for the board? The POA is also seeking candidates willing to chair various standing committees. Some of these committees are not active at this time because no one is willing to be the leader. These committees are Food & Beverage and Recreation. The other three committees, Lakes, Security, and Golf, have been fully functional, but are also looking for chairs and members.
These opportunities give the membership a chance to be part of the input and decision making for the community. You are encouraged to be part of this process by stepping up to run for one of the open positions. If you are not able, encourage someone you know. Lastly, when you get your ballot, participate in the process by voting.
