POA announces guest pass policy

May 24, 2009 04:49 pm

The POA has modified its policy on issuing guest passes. The two types of guest passes are "Immediate Family" and "Outside Guest." The policy is as follows and is effective beginning Friday, May 22 (Memorial Day weekend):
Immediate Family: These are the “Brown” passes. These passes will be issued free of charge for the first four (4) passes requested each time. Passes beyond the initial four will be charged a $1 fee to cover the cost of the pass. These passes are valid for 14 days from the issue date.  Immediate Family passes may only be obtained at the POA office during regular business hours. A valid membership card and picture ID are required.
Outside Guest: These are the “Blue” passes. These passes will no longer be issued free of charge. There will be a $2 fee for all of the Outside Guest passes, and they are valid for 14 days from the issue date. Guest passes may be purchased at the POA office or the Thunderbird Recreation Center. A valid membership card and picture ID is required. None of these passes will be issued to a declined, resigned, or suspended member of the POA.
With the increase in the federal minimum wage, it is hoped these fees will offset some of the labor costs associated with the recreational opportunities provided by the POA.
