Golfers get ready for spring

By Aubrey King / Signals contributor

We want to welcome our golfers back for the 2008 season with an invitation to purchase the new golf cards replacing our cumbersome booklets from years past. Our staff is ready to help you get the new cards and transfer any unused paper coupons to the new system.

The good news is that the drought damage has been successfully reversed. The course has substantially healed. Our recent rains have done a good job in prepping us with good turf for the 2008 season.

We have hammered out the new tentative league schedules for the year. League play begins April 14. Of course, the schedule is always subject to change based on weather, tournaments, and other unforeseen issues. Check with your league leaders for more information.

Monday: Men's Senior League beginning around 9:30 a.m.

Men's League beginning around 11 a.m.

Tuesday: Couple's League beginning around 9:30 a.m.

Wednesday: Men's League beginning around 9:30 a.m.

Thursday: Ladies Nine-Hole League beginning around 8 a.m.

Ladies 18- Hole League beginning around 9:30 a.m.

All open afternoon play will begin around 12:30 p.m. every afternoon. Additional time may be made available for league "make up play" to

provide additional opportunities for ladies and seniors. A plan to provide this additional availability is being evaluated. As details are finalized with the various league leaders, the information will be passed on to all golfers.

Just a reminder. Morning league play will exclude the $8 morning upgrade fee, for those with "Standard Season Pass."

The "Standard Season Pass" is good Sunday through Thursday afternoons and for all league play. You can use the pass at other times with an additional $8 dollar charge. Off season, considered November through February, will have no upgrade fees for morning or weekend play. The cost of this plan is $1,300, plus tax for an individual and $2,400, plus tax for a family. The "Premium Season Pass" is for anytime play and always has a $4 (9-hole)/$8(18 hole) fee with it at time of play.

The new golf cards can be purchased for $18 dollars/round plus tax with a minimum of 25 rounds. After the first 25 rounds are purchased you may add rounds with no minimum and a good for play anytime.

The new cards are good for the 2008 calendar year March 1 through the end of February.
