Recreation in Tansi is bouncing along

Thank you, Santa, for stopping by the Thunderbird on Dec. 8 to visit with all the good little girls and boys. Guests enjoyed fried chicken and mashed potatoes while the kids received gift bags from Santa.

We enjoyed our annual cookie exchange on Dec. 14 with 20 participants. We exchanged cookies and recipes and learned some terrific kitchen shortcuts.

The Thunderbird was a winter wonderland on New Year's Eve decorated to

the nines in white snowflakes. Over 150 guests arrived to enjoy the festivities.

As 2008 gets underway, your Thunderbird staff is looking forward to producing a variety of entertainment and crafting activities for you. Every Monday at noon, come join us for bridge and mahjong. Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. we have more cards and games. Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m., come join us for bingo. The pool tables are open all winter at the Thunderbird. On Thursday, come join the pool tournaments at 12:30 p.m.

Terresa is interested in getting "Quilts for Charity" started at the Thunderbird. We can work on them every Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call her at 788-6282 if you are interested in the project.

Mark your calendars on Feb. 9 for a charity luncheon to benefit Hospice of Cumberland County. The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. and includes a soup and salad lunch along with games and prizes. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. All proceeds to help Hospice of Cumberland County, a terrific community service.

The Thunderbird will be hosting a Valentine's dance on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. Members will be charged $5 and guests are $7.50 at the door. Frank Byers is providing the musical entertainment. It's BYOB and bring a finger food dish to pass. Please RSVP to Terresa at the Thunderbird if you can make it at 788-6282.
