Do art, music, writing at CACE Youth Expo
The annual Youth Expo is a time for youth to experience traditional and modern arts, crafts, writing, and music, all at no cost. Adults from various cultural arts organizations in Cumberland County will allow students to weave on looms, play dulcimers, paint, fold paper and do creative writing.
Blue Jean Ball and Benefit set May 17
Put your blue jeans on (or other casual attire) and join a fun and entertaining evening with the Kids on the Rise (KOTR). Everyone seemed to feel comfortable last year dressing casual so KOTR is repeating the Blue Jean Ball and Benefit Auction for a second year. This will mark the 10th annual dinner/auction major fundraiser for this organization.
Eckert accepted into Regional Fine Art Exhibition
Sharron Eckert has been notified that her long-leaf pine needle piece "Black Six-Pointed Star Mirror" has been juried into the Regional Fine Arts Exhibition, a featured exhibit of the Dogwood Arts Festival, Knoxville. There were over 270 submissions from 96 artists in eight states. Of those entries, 62 pieces from 49 artists were juried into the exhibit. No other artist from Cumberland County was accepted into this exhibit.
Consider home delivered meals
Fairfield Glade Resident Services (FGRS) is once again trying to find all the residents of Fairfield Glade who could benefit from meals being delivered to their homes at a minimal charge or in some cases at no charge at all.
