CROSSVILLE — Red is the signature color of the holiday season. In keeping with festive season, “Splash of Red” is the title of December’s themed art gallery exhibit at the Plateau Creative Arts Center (PCAC). Bring your family, friends and neighbors to the PCAC and enjoy the gallery’s visual holiday treat.

The PCAC gallery exhibit changes monthly, so on Friday afternoon, Dec. 7, the gallery exhibit “Splash of Red” will open to the public. The gallery at the PCAC exhibits original artwork created by the members of the Art Guild at Fairfield Glade. Visitors enjoy viewing quality artwork including watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastels, colored pencil, photography, mixed media and also 3-D work including pottery, sculpture and jewelry. The gallery is a perfect place to shop for one-of-a-kind holiday gifts with prices that are reasonable.

PCAC visitors not only enjoy the latest gallery exhibit, they also learn about the many art classes and day-trips offered by the Art Guild. In addition, visitors often get a bonus opportunity to see a class in progress or watch the open painting, beading or figure drawing sessions taking place in the art studio.

Visit the gallery exhibit at the Plateau Creative Arts Center, 451 Lakeview Drive (off Peavine Road). For more information, call 931-707-7249. Through Dec. 24, the hours of operation are Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and also Saturday and Sunday: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The PCAC will be closed on Christmas Day. Winter hours begin on Dec. 26 and run through February 2013. Winter hours are Monday through Saturday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and closed on Sundays.

The gallery exhibits and fine art classes are offered at the PCAC by the Art Guild at Fairfield Glade, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3)organization and an equal opportunity provider.
