Ladies Invitational Golf Tournament donates to area children’s programs

CROSSVILLE — The Fairfield Glade Ladies Invitational Golf Tournament celebrated its 40th anniversary this year. The event was a great success, with players from 15 states participating in the tournament.

At the Friday night reception, there were many items raffled off and the participating players were very generous in their donation and support of the charities chosen for 2013.

Each charity received a $3,400 donation to support ongoing projects and programs for the children of Cumberland County. Representing House of Hope was Cheryl Derrick. Representing Imagination Library was Jim Oswald. Representing Cumberland County School Family Resource Center was Lisa Phillips.

The committee thanks all the local businesses who were sponsors for this event, without whom support of these organizations would not be possible. Also, a big thanks goes to our professional golf staff at Heatherhurst Golf Course for all their efforts.

Finally, no tournament is successful without the committee members, who put in many hours of effort to make things run smoothly, and all the volunteers who worked both in the club house and on the course to make this tournament a great success.
